A brokerage owner does not read reports for pleasure. Five questions are worth asking before lunch, and each has one screen that answers it.

The five
Concentration
Revenue share with margin beside it — a large account at a thin margin is a different exposure.
Collections
Who to call, on which invoice, on which container, and what was last promised.
Margin
Broken out by lane, two or three usually pay for the rest.
Free time ends on a date. After it somebody pays every day — usually you, by accident. The rebill is built for you.
Demurrage watch
Carrier risk
Gaps are facts about your records. Indicators are patterns worth a call. Nothing auto-rejects.
What they look like
Each row opens the load and the invoice behind it.
$ 170,108 · margin 21.4%
$ 75,970 · margin 24.9%
$ 49,958 · margin 19.8%
1 ACCOUNT ABOVE 40% OF REVENUE
Top three carry 71.7% of the period. The threshold is set per tenant.
Call list
INV-2160 · MSMU 461 5308 · last contact 21-AUG
INV-2174 · TCLU 772 9140 · promised 05-SEP, not received
Nobody decides not to chase an invoice. It happens because there was never a list — and by then it is in the sixty-plus bucket, where money stops coming back.
Margin
Across a month everything looks acceptable. By lane, one is usually losing money at volume.
Margin reads the same charges that reach the invoice, so the chassis days count.

42 loads · $ 61,180 revenue · $ 16,152 margin
61 loads · $ 74,420 revenue · $ 17,042 margin
18 loads · $ 39,600 revenue · $ 3,208 margin
11 loads · $ 18,150 revenue · − $ 581 margin
1 LANE NEGATIVE AT VOLUME
Eleven loads run below cost. Every one also raised a negative-margin exception.
Demurrage watch
After it, somebody pays every day. The clock is the same one that drives the two last-free-day exceptions on the operations board.
$ 845.00 ACCRUED · 2 CONTAINERS REBILLABLE
Rebill builds the per diem accessorial on the load, billed to the party that caused the delay.
$ 845.00
Accrued, on five containers
Illustrative product output — not a customer result
The part that pays for itself is the rebill. Absorbed demurrage is nearly always demurrage that was rebillable and never written down.
The hub
Set the period once and it holds across every tab.
Volume, revenue, margin and exceptions for the period.
By role
Gross margin by customer, lane and agent.
By role
Margin share per agent per month, paid and unpaid.
By role
Both sides — receivables and payables — in the four buckets.
By role
Volume, revenue, margin, aging and dispute history per account.
By role
Loads run, spend, on-time record and compliance state.
By role
Every load in the range, with its charges and its outcome.
By role
Invoiced, collected, outstanding and written off.
By role
The whole book of one agent, for reassignment. Typing the URL gets the same refusal as not seeing the tab.
Super-admin only
Loads, revenue and margin per agent, with the individual book behind each row.
Waiting at the first management sign-in of a new month, not requested three weeks later.
Excel, CSV, and a PDF on your letterhead — what you send a lender is the figure you read.
Margin, aging and commission are each computed in exactly one place. Two implementations of one formula eventually disagree, and the one on screen is always the more flattering.
Forty minutes, no slides. Bring one live container and one messy invoice.
